Procurou-se perceber quais sao os medos sociais dos portugueses, atraves das suas percecoes e representacoes.Foi utilizada uma metodologia qualitativa: foram entrevistados 77 individuos, dentre os quais se verificou uma tendencia para certos tipos de medo, como o medo do desemprego. A idade nao parece influenciar tipos de medo que a priori pensavamos serem caracteristicos de escaloes etarios mais avancados: o medo da perda, o medo da solidao ou o medo de falhar para com os familiares.
