Werewolf: The Apocalypse second edition is far more playable than the first edition. I would say the art is the most evocative and consistent over other editions. Only negative is this edition like first edition has the almost must have Merits and Flaws system in another book. Even with its faults, this is my favorite version of this system.

This is THE book to start your collection (if you're a Werewolf fan). As with all White-Wolf core-books, I suggest you also obtain a 'Players Guide', as it includes much material that will enrich the character creation process. If you really want to play and/or run the game for others, 'Werewolf, The Dark Ages', 'Vampire: The Masquerade', and 'Hunter: The Reckoning' are all three good to have on hand. As a gamer with hundreds (thousands?) of hours of fun and laughter behind me, I can say with assurance that time spent gaming with friends creates memories that will last a lifetime;(whereas video games are remembered about as long as yesterday's fast-food...)
I first played this version of white wolf's game of macabre back in 1996. It was tough going at first, mostly because of it being a new system at the time for me at least and because it it was also a new group of players. Long story short it successfully became one of the games that were talked about years later fondly remembered for the adventure and fluidity of play. I liked very much the format of the info and although I generally prefer the illustrations from vampire I have favorites from these pages. My qualms (loss of one rating point) were for the missing merits and flaws section, which was included in the player's handbook, secondly it would have been nice for another page or two of baddies to have been thrown in as well. Otherwise I think this is the best version of Werewolf and if judged as a single book with which to run a game it is quite successful.Read full review
Werewolf: the Apocalypse is the greatest role-playing game of all time, in my opinion. I say this because of a simple, yet effective rules system that can be easily modified for house rules or any other additions/omissions. The setting is most typically set in a modern times era and always with a very dark twist. Very amazing character creation, not to mention quick and easy (no hour long paperwork to fill out), give your chronicle robust and deep protagonists/antagonists. Once you play anything in the World of Darkness (werewolf, vampire, etc.) you will never want to go back to your old RP system.
it came in fast and on time I have not complaints. I bought it because I play the game its made for adn did not have the book.
