    Seems to keep the birds away.

    I had a nice crop of cherries this year, and I think it's because of these balloons. Most years the birds get to the cherries long before I do, but this year I have so many on our one tree that I'm tired of picking them. There were a few times I would walk up to the tree and a bird would fly out, but for some reason, they didn't seem to bother the cherries. Maybe these balloons scare away the type that would normally eat them? I don't know. I put one balloon in the middle of the tree, and one each opposite each other on the outside of the tree. The only other time I have had so many cherries was one other year when there was a large hornets nest in the tree. No birds in sight that year, and even I was hesitant to get too close.
