I believe that fundamental factors: politics, economics and even social factors cause prices to move the way they do (and sometimes in the strangest ways), however throughout the day the smallest price movements are usually based upon technical factors that cause prices to move the way they do. So you'll get no fundamental or technical purists here: my approach is to combine the two. It works for me. But before you can think about implementing strategies you need to make sure that your risk management strategy is water tight - this is the chief focus of Part A of this book. I spend a lot of time on risk management techniques, however my aim was to give this section my own subjective spin to try and make it different from my first experiences with learning about risk management. It was always the section I rushed through when I first entered the markets because I thought it was dull and boring. But without a firm grasp of risk management techniques you can soon find the lows outnumber the highs in FX. Part B goes straight to the heart of my philosophy. It will help you to understand the basic and more advanced fundamental and technical indicators out there, before the creme de la creme: how to combine the two.
