Bis zum Februar 1973 waren die bilateralen Beziehungen zwischen Grossbritannien und der DDR aussergewoehnlich: Aus offizieller, britischer Sicht existierte die DDR namlich nicht. Konsequenter Weise verweigerte Grossbritannien diplomatische Beziehungen oder politische Kontakte auf offizieller Ebene, eine Haltung, die von den meisten westlichen und blockfreien Staaten ubernommen und bis Ende der 1960er Jahre beibehalten wurde. Die DDR musste deshalb auf andere Ebenen der zwischenstaatlichen Beziehungen ausweichen. Die Studie verwendet erstmals eine grosse Masse bislang unbekannter DDR-Quellen, insbesondere aus dem ZK der SED und dem Ministerium fur Auswartige Angelegenheiten. Als Darstellung eines Sonderfalls deutsch-britischer Geschichte bietet sie Einblicke in die Komplexitat eines speziellen Verhaltnisses uber den eisernen Vorhang hinweg.

    Although the description details were misleading, the customer support was rather good. I ordered the 2-volume set of ‘Atlas Shrugged’, but received a single volume. It might not seem like much to others, but it’s a large book and a 2-set volume would have made it easier to read. In addition, poor packaging damaged the DJ. Anyways, after sending firm, yet precise and polite emails, the situation was promptly resolved, hence the positive feedback; and, why I would buy again from the seller. 👍

    Book as specified, rapid delivery (from USA to UK), and a reasonable price for the book. Overall, my book arrived in "ok quality" packaging. A padded "book mailer" envelope was used. However, inside, there was no other protective packaging. One small point of constructive feedback: perhaps cardboard packaging could have been implemented, as a number of competing book sellers are now implementing cardboard packaging, especially for higher price books subject to international delivery.
