    Well worth buying

    I remember watching this series as a boy / youth when it first aired. Haven't watched much of it yet, but what I have watch has been quite sci-fi nostalgic. With a great many series, films etc that you loved in your youth - like Flashing Blades or creaky B horror movies etc, perhaps best left in your memory? But not so with Space 1999. The hopes and visions of the early to mid 1970's in terms of Space exploration haven't quite materialised yet, but the technological aspirations of this show weren't as amitious as many who set ther sights hundredsof years ahead. Spandex though - - never a good idea :-) hahaha .

    Must see from 1970s

    Still a good set of episodes and the basis of some films made later. Dragons Domain still very good for its time and must have been the idea for Alien and its spinoffs. Great cast and story line and model space ships fantastic (we're are the models now ?). If you get this box set you must get season 2. You would think some one had thought of remaking this fantastic Sifi program or was the cast and everything about un- supassable ! Made and filmed in UK like all good films are still made today.

    Fantastic

    Used to love watching this series when it first came out with my children. As a sci-fi fanatic I thought I would watch it again and I am so glad I did. I can't believe how good the picture quality is. I have already got halve way through and can't wait to see the rest of the series.
