Nice radio with issues
For starters the photo is misleading: the radio appears to have an anodized gold finish, but is actually beige—like a Starbucks bottled Frappuccino. It’s a nice enough color, but not when you expect a different hue and texture. The look and sound have a charming retro quality, warm and comforting, but not high fidelity; it’s not a bargain Bose. The tuning selectivity is disappointing. The loose wire antenna they supplied was useless. Fortunately I had a spare powered indoor antenna that helped, but even then I had to align it precisely to get a decent signal from our local NPR broadcast tower less than 10 miles away. Now that it’s working well and I’ve adjusted to the color, I’m happy with it. I love the retro styling and it fits nicely in our kitchen—and my wife loves it unconditionally. So there you have it. If you buy one, I recommend you go to Radio Shack first and pick up a powered FM antenna before you open the box.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Should be OK for most casual people but that's it.
THE GOOD: Good looking case, appears to be well built, very nice looking well lit analogue dial. External antenna options for AM and FM(switchable) Good sound on FM and decent selectivity and sensitivity Line in and line out features No complicated controls Internal speaker has a nice deep bass note. THE BAD: Analogue tuning is really PPL and feels and tunes strangely in the way stations pop into slots, no side bands. AM Sound is quite muffled similar to listening through a 3.5 KHz. bandwidth filter. Sensitivity on AM described as just adequate but nothing really to brag about. THE UGLY: The dial calibration below 900KHz.is horrible. At least 50-60 KHz.off Tuning in a station on FM or especially on AM is very tricky. You will need a safecracker’s touch to tune in exactly what you want. WFTL Fort Lauderdale,FL at 850 KHz.50KW during the day comes in at about 800KHz. and in TWO other place in proximity! When you hit the sweet spot, the station roars in with a loud blast. I’m about 25 miles away from their transmitter. CONCLUSION: For the average Joe, this radio should be OK. For radio geeks such as myself, there is nothing really special here if you like AM listening. No cigar. I’m sending my WR-15 back.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
