    best way to get started with Basic D&D

    If you're interested in Basic D&D, the Rules Cyclopedia is the single best compilation of rules. It has the breadth of Mentzer's first four sets (Basic, Expert, Companion, and Master) compiled into a single volume that is both easily referenced and far less expensive than buying Mentzer's first four sets. It lacks the wealth of examples that Mentzer offers, which means that it's likely not as good for introducing completely new players to D&D. If one is interested in Basic D&D, this is the single best volume to get.

    Pristine condition, totally satisfied!

    Some years ago, I gave my husbands Rules Cyclopedia away as a gift, not realizing it was rare and difficult to find. ( 🤯I know, I know.) I wanted to surprise him for his birthday, and began the search. Found a few, but prices were astronomical. This book was reasonably priced, simple to order, and arrived quickly, in amazing condition! Thank you, the look on my husband’s face was priceless, and I am so relieved to be able to put that error firmly in my past. 😊
