  • Don't read this before bed!

Without getting into right or wrong, this book presents an often untold version of the American Indian wars, from the perspective of the individual soldiers and settlers on the frontier. Their words, coming directly from diaries and memoirs written at the time, tell a compelling and haunting story of sacrifice and hardship. It should be read by any historian wanting a more complete perspective on that time period.
