    An intense film with an intense cast about an intense sci-fi subject!

    One of director Franklin J. Schaffner's greatest films alongside Planet of the Apes, Patton, and Papillion. For a director that won the Oscar for Best Director in 1971, he sure isn't talked about much in Film School, and that's a shame because I think Schaffner was an excellent filmmaker that actors adored. It contains one of the best casts of actors ever put to film: Gregory Peck, Laurence Olivier, James Mason, Denholm Elliott, Lilli Palmer, Rosemary Harris, Walter Gotell, Uta Hagen and even her student, Steve Guttenberg. I'm not going to spoil the mystery. Just watch this intense thriller for yourself!

    A fairly good film, that could have been better

    The story was great and entertaining, and the acting was excellent. The film could have been a lot better, if some illogical events did not occur. If one has NO money to pay a bill, how can that person be jetting to the United States from Austria. In addition, if you are shot more than once, your body goes into shock, so you usually become unconscious, and do not have the strength to carry on a heated conversation. Concerning the matter of obedience, if your honored yet demented superior demands that you kill someone, then you do it. The plot was thrilling, but these flaws made the story unrealistic. The fact that cloning was practiced is not far fetched as it is going on today.

    Suspenseful and great ending!!

    Great movie of what might have happened after WWII and Gregory Peck plays a bad guy !! Saw it many years ago and had to add it to my collection..

    A different kind of movie. Very entertaining!

    There has been some criticism of Gregory Peck's part in the movie but then you could criticize all the actors for the direction of the movie. Personally I find the entertainment of the fictional part of the movie very entertaining and the acting of all the actors fit their parts to the story. All in all, a very entertaining movie. It was different from all the garbage being presented today.
