    Within a couple of degrees.

    I checked this against my reference digital infra-red thermometer and it is within about two degrees ... It reads about two degrees higher (warmer) so I just take that into consideration ... For example -18 degrees C is actually -16 degrees C ... If I could nit-pick, I would say that this thermometer mists up and needs a quick wipe to see the temperature ... Again its easy, as a quick rub with the finger lets you see the reading ... Probably a digital meter would be better to read, but for the money this is OK.

    does what it says, cheap and necessary

    you can't trust even new fridges, My new LG I set to 4 degrees and my laser was saying 7, I bought this and yip 7. turned it down to 2 and it came down to the red line. Same for the freezer section food in the fridge is lasting much longer now I put it inside on the door at eye height
