Solaris
If you like scifi with lots of action and explosions then this is not the film for you. Its a bit on the slow side and hard at times to get into. George Clooney is sent to a space station orbiting Solaris which appears to have an effect on the crew members. He plays Chris Kelvin whose wife commited suicide on earth and something on the space station keeps bringing her back. Its very deep and it wasn't until the end I understood what was happening. Having said that I still enjoyed it. The acting is good although a little strange at times. They could have done with some more light bulbs when they filmed it.If you like scifi with lots of action and explosions then this is not the film for you. I heard the soundtrack before watching the DVD. I like the atmospheric soundtrack, however, the story was slow and painful. I was looking for deeper meaning - even looking up a synopsis of the storyline on the internet and it was an imaginative idea - however I think whatever meaning was intended - it didn't pull off in this movie. solaris dvd
saw the original version many years ago and was curious to see this later version and was delighted with it.It was easier to watch being in english unlike the original which was a russian film needing subtitles.

You might like this if your addicted to SI-FIbut for evey one else this film will drag and leave you thinking what was the point of that. The big names involved in this will not want to be remineded of it. they would want to forget it as should you.
