Just like Heaven
A light but engaging film. I've watched it a few times. Enjoyed it. There are so many stories of people surviving 'death' experiences and those in a coma being able to hear and see what is happening around them. So, an interesting take on this with the storyline of the film.

I recently bought the DVD Just Like Heaven starring Reese Witherspoon and Mark Ruffalo. When i first looked at the dvd i thought it would just be another soppy chick flick as they all are! How wrong can a girl be! Love combined with wit and sarcasm this movie is a must see for all women around. As Lizzie, a owrk obsessed doctor, is set up on a mystery date she encounters an accident, causing her to fall into a 3 month coma. It is only then that she realises she is in fact on her way to dying, and going to heaven. And with the help of Phsycics and a new love interest, they run around the city doing what they can, as well as falling in love! A charming love story for all to enjoy
There's very few films that Reese Witherspoon stars in that flop and in 'Just Like Heaven' she notches up another winner. The character of Elizabeth in my view was made for Reese Witherspoon and she does a fantastic job playing the cute, funny and loveable Elizabeth. The story is an amusing comedy where David is plagued by visits from the seemingly nutty Elizabeth who keeps insisting that he's living in her apartment. David refuses to leave, Elizabeth refuses to leave and after a while it becomes apparent that Elizabeth isn't really in touch with reality. What follows is a film which can be described as a comedy and a love-story all rolled into one. The chemistry between Elizabeth and David is obvious and I doubt there could have been a better pairing. All in all a sweet film which was ... It's a wonderful afterlife. When David (Mark Ruffalo) rented his quaint San Francisco apartment, the last thing he expected - or wanted - was a roommate. He had only begun to make a complete mess of the place when a pretty but decidedly controlling young woman names Elizabeth (Reese Witherspoon) suddenly shows up, adamantly insisting the apartment is hers. David assumes there's been a giant misunderstanding...until Elizabeth disappears as mysteriously as she appeared. Changing the locks does nothing to deter Elizabeth, who begins to appear and disappear at will - mostly to rebuke David for his personal living habits in her apartment. Convinced she is a ghost, David tries to help Elizabeth cross over to the 'other side'. But when Elizabeth discovers she does have a distinctly ethereal ... It's a wonderful afterlife.
