I always buy fresh yeast and I believe Mauri Pinnacle yeast is the best. You can't beat it for good results. I bake bread with it and dried yeast doesn't work half as well. I don't use a breadmaker, I hasten to add. For those who are doubtful about freezing yeast I can assure you it works a treat. I've been doing this for over 30 years. Buy a big block and cut it up into the sizes you need - a bit of a hassle but worth it - bag the individual pieces then freeze. Take a piece out to thaw when you want to use it (it doesn't take very long) then use as normal. Bob's your uncle!
