Any string that doesn't do this will be of low quality, by definition (though of course it depends on your intended use). I bought the 38m x 3mm version and it does have imperfections at a couple of points - not quite where two pieces have been spliced together but something similar to this. This does not bother me and I guess it's inevitable in any twine not made by a modern 'factory method'. Overall very happy.
