Overall pretty good
The DVD sleeve is in good condition, pretty happy with that. The actual DVD box itself is also in pretty much perfect condition, although I really wasn't expecting to see that the inside of it was broken, there wasn't any mention of it. The DVDs are scratchless and look pretty good too, so I'm overall pleased with the product.

A quality film, well acted & full of laughs.
I have read the books, listened to the Radio version & watched the1970s/80s TV series & loved them. While this film makes a few changes to the plot, it is a very good rendition of the story. Freeman make an excellent Arthur Dent & plays it brilliantly. It could have been written just for him. Zooey Derschanel as Trillion works beautifully as well. Rickmans Marvin is excellent & the Vogans are excellently portraid too. Even the origional Marvin from the BBC TV series appears as an extra! The effects are great & the writing hangs together very well. After watching it, I realised the BBC TV series delivery was quite stlited; not flowing quite so well as the radio series did. Don't Panic!
A great version of the Douglas Adams book which equals the radio & original series, not an easy task. The casting is superb as are the performances. I found this exciting, interesting, informative, though provoking & funny, everything I need from a good film!

Engaging and digestble
I have not completed the book as lost the redthread halfway. The film is far more engaging and digestible. Freeman is very relatable, green dressing gown and looking desperately for a cup of tea on his travels through the galaxy. We enjoyed it as a family and would definitely recommend it.

We all laughed outrageously throughout the first watch of Hitchhikers Guide and have laughed even more every time we watch it as there are so many favorite moments. The cast are believable and the action is fast paced and easy to follow, even if you've not read the book or seen the 1980's TV series.
