    A Technicolor masterpiece.

    I had seen portions of this film over the years on TV, but got the opportunity to buy the Blu Ray disc at a bargain price. This 1938 film is one of the earliest of the 3 strip Technicolor efforts, and no words can do justice to the spectacular color photography achieved by Tony Gaudio. Errol Flynn was at his peak, and the rousing score by Erich Wolfgang Korngold is sensational. Supporting roles by Basil Rathbone and Olivia deHaviland complement Flynn’s work fully. Add to that the most extensive and fascinating group of “extras,” and this Blu Ray disc now has a place of honor in my personal collection. I cannot recommend this disc too highly!

    Great restored 1080p quality, great bonus features, and excellent packaging.

    Love this movie. I am not a big Errol Flynn fan but this is probably one of the better versions of Robin Hood (next to the one Disney made). Good, wholesome entertainment. Basil Rathbone and Claude Rains are the perfect villains, in my opinion. I think the movie was spectacular for the time it was made.

    Adventures of Robin Hood - One of the best classic films ever made.

    Bought the Bluray of the Robin Hood classic. Easily the best Robin Hood film ever. The color is excellent, really vibrant and bright. Music and voice audio sound detailed. I haven't seen a 4k of this film, if it exists, but I'd think this is about as fine an example of a classic film to BR, and wonder if it could be improved any further that it already is without smoothing or sacrificing something. The film grain is present and uniform throughout. You won't be disappointed. It does definitely succeed the DVD which felt a bit flat and unmastered. I believe the next classic film I'll purchase on BR will be Mask of Zorro.

    timeless classic

    Timeless yes, but resounding in quality, art and talent. If you shut off the sound and just marvel at the settings, and the scenes used in the movie you would find more than anything latter day. A wonderful work of art, one or Errol Flynn's best.
