Not their best but still pretty good.
Although not as good as the magnificent Sing Loud, Sing Proud and Blackout releases, still better than most of the current old school punk offerings.

The Meanest Of Times - Dropkick Murphys (CD 2007)
Absolute top notch quality product from a band who are selling out shows in the UK just as quickly as their own home town gigs in Boston, USA. I saw this band play at Oxford on 10th Feb 2008 and bought this CD because the music that they play is up there with the best and compares favourably against the likes of early Clash and hit 'em hard punk bands. Despite not being from the original punk era they attract a very punky type of following with their punk thrash guitars and brash lyrics. The track that stands out for me is 'Johnny I hardly Knew Ya', its a fantastic version to the Clash's track entitled English Civil War...absolute knock-out. The CD comes with a nice inner sleeve and 16 top notch tracks which will grace anyones CD collection. You will not be disappointed with this band and ... The Murphys are back with a riotous follow up to 'The Warriors Code.' With 16 tracks you'll be spoilt for choice. With drums smashing and pipes blaring they drag you into another world. Close your eyes and you're transported to a dimly lit bar with smoke curling from half smoked ciggys. You can almost feel the sweat dripping from the bodies as they dance and charge and jump with violence seeming only a breath away. There's laughter and tears here as you get caught in the flow. Often compared to 'The Pogues'but with a raw American twist, and a swirl of bagpipes, there is a lot of original material here, complimented by some traditional tracks, with the greatest compliment being they are difficult to tell apart. Like the Pogues they cant really sing but somehow it just works anyway! And just ... The Murphys are back with a riotous follow up to 'The Warriors Code.' With 16 tracks you'll be spoilt for choice. I didn't like the Phil Lynott 'Jailbreak' cover but you cant make them all great. If you want to bounce up and down this could be for you. The lyrics may not test your brain but their simplicity should stir your soul. Buy this and play it at St Patricks party. Play it loud, sing the chorus and the neighbours will bounce as well after a Magners and Jamesons chaser! Cheers B6RKY

Possibly the best of their albums.
In my opinion this album is the best of their productions so far. Quick, easy going songs with Irish character. I find it particularly useful when driving.
