Compelling Viewing. Excellent Characterisation.
Barbara Taylor Bradford's A Woman of Substqance dvd is a brilliant story. The story line is excellent. First showing the trials and tribulations of the life of a young woman.who overcame her status in life. With sheer determination, she fought her way to her final goal to own her own shops. The acting is superb. Unlike other stories the ending is not so predictable. She fought to gain prestige, but her life was tinged with great sadness. Birthday Present.
I bought this DVD as a birthday present for an 82yr.old relation. She had already seen Part 1 which was free with a daily newspaper and it wasn't until she watched the freebie that she realised it was only the first part. Having raved about this film, I thought that a full-length DVD would make a brilliant birthday gift. I can assure you that it did! I have not seen the DVD myself but judging from her reaction after viewing, it certainly met with her approval.I bought this DVD as a birthday present for an 82yr.old relation.
