Not a good DVD, avoid this 2007 copy get the earlier one instead !
If you want the DVD of this film, get the 2001 eidition. This 2007 edition isn't worthy of the film and was very cheaply made, there aren't even any chapters for skipping to or scene selection, never mind special features. The 2001 edition is one of the best DVDs of a film I have ever bought, were as this edition is one of the worst, no special features nothing, just a menu. So do take my advice, as for the film itself, there isn't much I can say that has not already been said about this classic, although it is indeed timeless, emotionally engaging, which is a rare thing for a comedy to make you feel sad without ruining the movie, but this one does it and it works perfectly for you the viewer. What I could also say about this film, is I find it funny how Richard Grant's character always ... If you want the DVD of this film, get the 2001 eidition. The one I think of is that scene where they are out in some river trying to get fish to eat because there is no food in the grotty cottage, and he doesn't ahve his trousers on but he has the rest of it on, the tie is so loose and it hangs from him as he lurches over the rocks and blasts his shotgun at where he saw the fish, it's a nice touch and it adds to the humour of the film. Enjoy it for yourself!

The British TV shows the Young Ones, Filthy Rich and Catflap, and Bottom are all Withnail and I on steroids. Not a bad movie but I've seen better.
