      Compelling autobiography describing Cotswold village life before the motor car.

      Beautiful book set in the Cotswolds, taking you back to the time just before advent of the car, when people lived off the land in close-knit villages, enjoyed communal festivals, and largely lived out their whole lives near to where they were born. Contemporary photographs and other illustrations embellish the book.

      A great bargain and very good condition.

      A personal history told by Laurie Lee. His early childhood was not easy but is recalled in a way which transports the reader. This story is enhanced significantly by the illustrations, including one of 'Rosie' herself. This book is very good value and can connect today's reader with the ways of yesterday.
