Any fan of John Mellencamp's early work, the raw, powerful delivery, heartfelt lyrics and fresh sound will appreciate his 1983 album Uh-Huh. This is a must have for any fan or collector, one of the bases from which all his later work was formed upon. A quick note, the artist now known as John Mellencamp (his real name) released several early albums with the stage name of John Cougar (a moniker given to him by the record labels). After Uh-Huh, he transitioned to the name of John Cougar Mellencamp for three albums, then dropped the name "Cougar" altogether and is now widely known as John Mellencamp. This is important to note as many of his earlier works are still under the name John Cougar all of which are excellent albums. As I have been a long time fan and was from nearly the beginning of his career, I enjoy the journey of this talented artist and his determination to be acknowledged properly for his work. This album, Uh-Huh is an excellent collection of songs, puts one in mind of early Springsteen or John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown's work for the film, Eddie and the Cruisers. Read full review

One of better the albums he is known for. Uh Huh is a good listen, with Crumblin' Down, Pink Houses, and Authority Song the top songs. Some of the other songs fare quite well too, like Warmer lace to sleep and Play Guitar. Not a bad pick for a Mellencamp fan.
Very happy🏆👏🏻
