About this product

Product Information

The Quantum Universe brings together two authors on a brilliantly ambitious mission to show that everyone can understand the deepest questions of science. But just what is quantum physics? How does it help us understand the world? Where does it leave Newton and Einstein? And why, above all, can we be sure that the theory is good? The bizarre behaviour of the atoms and energy that make up the universe has led to some very woolly pronouncements on the nature of all interconnectedness. Here, Brian Cox and Jeff Forshaw give us the real science, and reveal the profound theories that allow for concrete, yet astonishing, predictions about the world. This is our most up-to-date picture of reality.

  • The title accurately fits the content.

Its a fascinating read even if it is hard going in places! I like its sober and honest approach to the subject.

  • Another Disappointment

Cox tries to explain a very difficult subject with virtually no maths to accommodate. For me this is his second failure, the first being E=mc2. I think he tries too hard. One can only compare his failure to the success of Hawking.

  • Quantum mechanics

Everything that can happen does happen. Got to buy it just for that title!. Used book but looks brand new at unbelievable low price.

  • One of the most interesting reads ever!!

Amazing book. Brian Cox makes it fascinatingly interesting even for the layman. I bought this for my Grandson as I have already bought this book for myself both on E-Bay. It is for all age groups and I love it and can really recommend it as a good read.
