My 10 year old has just built his 2nd tamiya car,this time a holiday buggy,we we’rnt to impressed with the small motor tamiya now supply with the kit,so we paired this pinion gear with a 21t brushed motor and it was so much better,it gave that extra poke but not so much that it flips over backwards,he was well pleased.

This gear will outlast the standard aluminium gear several times over - especially if you have fitted an uprated motor. I have a 15 turn brushless motor and this gear has no signs of wear after many hours of running. The standard item wore out after only a few hours. Good news is that the plastic idler gear it meshes with still shows no sign of wear either. Highly reccommended

The pinion is harder and should wear better than the supplied ali one in the kit, plus the 19 tooth will give a little more speed, than the 17 tooth pinion.
