Great reference book for Metal Detectorists!
Superb book if you are a Metal detectorist, with much of the type of finds commonly (and less commonly for the more fortunate!) unearthed. It has made me take a much closer look at some of the things I had thought might have just been junk - the history of some items is compelling and I bet a lot of people out there who started off hoping just to find old coins then find themselves becoming more and more interested in the history of the artefacts they pull up! This book not only explains the types of item, what they were made from, who made them and when, and also how they were used. It is helped by excellent photos and had me comparing many of my items trying to date them. Superb book if you are a Metal detectorist, with much of the type of finds commonly (and less commonly for the more fortunate!) unearthed.
