THIS HERBIE OUTING FEATURES THE RETURN OF DEAN JONES AS RACE CAR DRIVER, JIM DOUGLAS. IT WAS FILMED ON LOCATION IN MONTE CARLO AND IT HAS SOME GREAT SCENES OF RACING. THIS TIME HERBIE IS INVOLVED IN A DIAMOND HEIST THANKS TO SOME BUMBLING JEWEL THIEVES. IF YOU NEVER HEARD OF A CAR FALLING FOR A FEMALE RACE CAR, IT HAPPENS TO HERBIE. SUFFICE TO SAY IT ALL TURNS OUT WELL BY THE END OF THE FILM. DON KNOTTS REPLACES BUDDY HACKETT AS JIM'S MECHANIC, WHO RIDES WITH HIM IN THE RACE. THIS IS A FUN FAMILY- FRIENDLY FILM THAT MAKES YOU FEEL GOOD.

Still Fun After All These Years
If you know the "Love Bug" movies, you know exactly what you're getting yourself into: a fun, giddy romp with a great VW Beetle with a heart, while his owner tries to win the (most improbable) race from Paris to Monte Carlo. It's fun for everyone, and it's not stupid — which, nowadays, it's a lot. The Blu-ray is bare-bones, just the movie, no extras, but the quality is excellent and the sound is very very good.
