      now i understand

      this book is absolutely brilliant. it is everything we know but don't always put into practice. it is mind opening and makes you look at both sides and encourages you look at yourself as well as your horse. this book makes you understand that this is a tight knit relationship that is very fragile and can easily be ruined when you turn the other cheek and let things go. it makes you understand that you need to be firm but fare. repetitive, consistent. set the rules and stick to them to keep the relationship right for both your horse and yourself. all this with thought and firm kindness. I now have the horse I wanted and gone is the monster who nearly made me give in and give up. I owe Rio Barrett a big thank you from my horse and me, we now understand each other and he is a pleasure to own. ...
