Was weary of this at first plugged in and tested. GPU cable 6pin to 8pin now i have second 8pin plug. Stable and no power issues. Converter is fine and PSU fine. Helped me a lot. I have allready have 1 8pin and one 6pin on my PSU and the adadpter made it now i can use 8pin and 8pin in higher GPUs. All great no problems. 750w PSU. Thanks A++++

Royal Mail lost the first cable sent out. Once it was clear Royal mail had lost the package a replacement was promptly sent out and arrived next day. Cable tested and works just fine on my Geforce RTX 970. It's only used for Zwift so not under mega load but no problems so far.

    Does what it says on the tin

    Does what it says on the tin. I replaced my graphics card and was caught off guard when it came with an eight pin power slot, but my power supply only had a six, I thought I was going to have to buy a new power supply, but this simple adapter came in at a fraction of the price and works just great.

    Dangerously constructed cables

    Beneath the insulation these are made of extremely thin 25 AWG wire! That's 7 sizes too small, and nowhere near sufficient to carry the power these connectors are supposed to be rated for. I'm not surprised people are reporting fires etc. These are highly unsafe and should be withdrawn from sale. Attached photo shows 18 AWG wire on the left (the smallest gauge permissible for this connector), and this item's wire on the right.

    Thin under rated wire thickness. Dangerous.

    Under rated wire thickness for these connectors. I connected this to a new graphics card i had bought and it started smouldering and got very hot, I noticed this fast and turned my pc off before a fire started. Very dangerous and I do not recommend these for devices that have a high current draw, like a new graphics card.

    Dangerous! Melted in the case, causing frequent reboots! Avoid!

    At first this was working well... until a week later when the computer started randomly rebooting. Another week later, I smelt a burning smell; opened up the case and realised one end of this product has melted! I have since replaced it and the computer now works without problems. Avoid!

    PLay it safe with power draw

    Don't try to run too much power through this item. Play it safe. I don't think I got too much above 75W (card was doing about 150W+, perhaps drawing 75W from the motherboard) and the cable melted.
