I know many people use varnish to protect the blade but coating the blade will completely change the play of the blade. When you consider how intricate and thin the different veneers are and the characteristics of these on the way the blade plays all this would be compromised by a hard coat of varnish. Best to leave how the manufacturers designed it in my opinion! Glad you like the blade I think they are amazing for the money and worth 2x the price!
