    • Septemebr (DVD 2003)

An excellent adaptation of Rosamunde Pilcher's novel of the same name with an all star cast including Michael York, Jenny Agutter, Edward Fox and Jaqueline Bisset. I lent the DVD to my mother, fearing she may find it difficult to follow not having read the novel first. However, she also thoroughly enjoyed it. No foul language or violence, just a truly delightful and enjoyable film.

Edward Fox and Jenny Agutter were also wonderful as the aristocratic, but 'hard up' Lord and Lady Balmerino, who were forced to take paying guests to make ends meet. Angela Pleasance was also very good as "dotty Lottie", who kept turning up all over the place and frightening the residents witless. She was quite creepy to watch. All in all I would recommend this film as being very enjoyable and watchable, though at nearly 3 hours, it's a long ...
