I have always found Fiskars products to be quality engineered pieces so had no hesitation in ordering the X-25 splitting axe. I was not disappointed. I had a large pile of hardwood oak and chestnut logs to split into smaller logs. quite literally the axe split the wood like hot knife through butter, perfectly weighted with ergonomically designed shaft for ease of use and comfort. after use the blade shows no signs of use and the axe could quite easily be repacked and sold as new again! pay a little bit more you wont be disappointed.....just a quality tool all-round.I have always found Fiskars products to be quality engineered pieces so had no hesitation in ordering the X-25 splitting axe. Worth Every Penny
Fiskar's own write up seemed a bit OTT to me, but, since I have been impressed with other bits of gardening kit from this manufacturer, I decided to go ahead and buy the X25. Without the info from Fiskar about how to select the right axe, I would have probably gone for a heavier head and a longer shaft, but this axe is absolutely ideal. Take a look on Fiskar's site for details The shaft length initially seems to keep you a bit closer to the log than you may have been used to, but after a few swings, the memory of your old axe disappears and the delights of this one break through. Best, most Versatile Fiskars I own
Large and 'wedgy' enough to split beefy/ knotty chunks, while just about feadible to use one handed for easy to split logs. Excellent build quality and lifetime handle warranty :)

Fiskers axe is a great piece of kit and l would recommend this product.
Perfectly weighted axe, well balanced. Does, exactly what its supposed to do and split wood cleanly. For me the smaller axe is the right size for my height. (5'8'') there is less pressure on my shoulders and legs and the downward stroke is more controlled. Great purchase.
