  • Excellent in both text and photographs.

Having been on a “They called it Passchendaele “ battlefield tour last summer this book is an excellent reference aid.The text is clear and concise and well laid out.The photographs tell the story of the horror show by themselves.Another interesting point is how much the Ypres area has changed since the book was compiled! The “ now” photos have changed in the intervening 40 years or so- with the widening of roads and new industrial development etc.All in all a very thought provoking book.
