Convenient rather than brillant.
I have had a shaver tool since Stanley first produced them many years ago and bought some new blades for a special job. I would not say that these tools are brilliant but they can be useful in certain circumstances, especially for taking off small amounts of wood where one could only use a small plane - but that needs sharpening! Convenience is indeed an important factor in their usefulness, especially for small jobs.I have had a shaver tool since Stanley first produced them many years ago and bought some new blades for a special job. Great to be able to buy just the replacement blade for Stanley Shaver Tool.
Excellent replacement blade for an incredibly versatile tool. I have used this for over 20 years & it is the most useful small ( & inexpensive) tool ever for shaping wood and rounding off rough edges. great for outside work in particular.
