    Stand the test of time

    Although this is outdated tech, here on ebay, ecc ram is cheaper than regular ram and a dual socket mobo can be had for $20 or less. The performane of one of these cpu', is about the same as a e2160 pentium dual-core, put two of these together and it becomes a little above 3x the speed of an e2160. It's 64bit, most boards you buy with will support more than 16gb of ram and it cost me $25 for a matched pair.... 4 cores for $25. But it isn't all good, if you want power savings....you came to the wrong place, turn around and get a slower 9150e for that. Also, this is one hot proc. In a server situation,you'll use the cabinet fans for cooling, but I use these as my gaming system. I recommend active cooling because high 40's on idle and even up to 70 degrees on load if you're not careful....it ...

    AMD Dual-Core Opteron 270 2 GHz You can still find motherboards that support these and Ram as well on the cheap. Doing so will let you build a powerfull inexpensive perver.

    AMD Opteron

    The processor was clean with all the pins straight and clean, plus it works great. I would definitely buy another processor if I needed it.

    A good cpu for dual cpu server motherboards

    Now on ebay it is a cheap CPU with good performance, you can find server motherboard and ram for a low price.
