  • Realistic science acting within its bounds

Aveni’s grasp on the earthbound nature and plausible construction as well as refuting the aerial contingency necessity for viewing the lines, his emphasis on the lines themselves and the hills affording perspectives on them, is both rewarding and compact with additional details about the awkward personalities who either have their own theories or want to deter and mislead scientific efforts is helpful and still leaves enough untold for fiction writers to engage with.
