No too sure about the white reed, more deeper tone . Overall very happy with purchase . Should have bought this a long time ago . Now I will not get earache from my fellow pipers about playing with a cheaper crappy chanter . We have all won . Thanks again .

I did feel the packaging wasn't great given that it was Royal Mail - a sort of mini cardboard flap and the reed wrapped in a piece of bubble wrap.
