The influential punk-pop rock band Green Day goes interactive, with a dedicated release in MTV Games' successful play-along franchise. The game features the band's three core members, Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, and Tré Cool, in virtual form, on stage at various venues important to the trio's storied career history. As in earlier editions of Rock Band, players can jam with the instrument of their choice, and the Green Day edition supports three-part vocal harmonies specific to the band's music. There are 47 playable Green Day songs on the disc, including "American Idiot," "Brain Stew/Jaded," "Boulevard of Broken Dreams," "Hitchin' a Ride," and "Wake Me Up When September Ends."<br><br>In addition to all the songs and gameplay of the standard edition, Green Day: Rock Band Plus includes a code that activates an export function, allowing users to pull the songs from the disc into their existing Rock Band library, where they may be performed with custom avatars. It also comes with a code for six additional, downloadable Green Day songs.

A MUST for any PS3, GreenDay & RB3 Fan
I love the 3D rendered likenesses of Green Day® members Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tré Cool. Although I have to say that they did not really do justice to Billie Joe Armstrong. I truly enjoyed playing all 47 Green Day® songs, including American Idiot, Wake Me Up When September Ends, Boulevard of Broken Dreams, Brain Stew,Jaded and Hitchin' A Ride, 21 Guns, Good Riddance and some that never got airtime (it's a shame that they didn't especially with songs like Jesus of Suburbia, She, Basketcase and When I come Around).I was happy with the ability to import the WHOLE Green Day set list into RB3 as I can now do sets and include Green Day in my sets. I have to admit that RB3 & Green Day® RB are in my collection of PS3 games due to disability and the need to relive my "youth & glory ... Having been a vocalist in multiple bands for nearly 20 years I live vicariously through my character or Billie Joe Armstrong in RB3. I am older and find that the Rock Band series as a whole has given me a new lease on life. I am an older "gamer" and we have RB3 night at our house ... no scrabble® here (not that there is anything wrong with Scrabble®). But with Music being a universal language we often find out more about what is going on with our son by his song choices. The only downside I can find with Green Day Rock Band Plus is that I purchased it second hand. Never thinking about the fact that the export code may have already been used. Harmonix® & Sony® were very helpful with this and I have all of the songs, inclusive of the exclusive DLC that came with Green Day Rock Band Plus because they understand that people do resell certain specialty items like this after they have exported the material to the main RB game. All in All I would give the game a 10 out of 10 for it's presentation, sound & likenesses of the band members ~ However, I can only give it an 8.5 out of 10 as far as difficulty charting goes. There are songs that are supposedly 3 white dots on guitar that are clearly 5 and visa versa. But other than that it is a Stellar edition to anyone's collection, if you like Green Day®.

Great addition to anyone's rock band library of songs!
Great game. And with the "Plus" version you can upload all the songs on this game to play on Rock Band 3 so you don't have to switch discs to play songs from either game.
