Product Information

The Nikon 105mm Micro lens brings the benefits of vibration reduction (VR) to the domain of Macro photography. It offers high-resolution, high-optical performance for both digital and 35mm film format SLR cameras. It incorporates Nikon’s second-generation vibration reduction system (VR II) that allows flexible hand-held shooting by stabilizing the image to the equivalent stability of a shutter speed that is 4 stops faster when compared with a conventional lens (as determined by Nikon performance test). The SWM (Silent Wave Motor) and IF (Internal Focusing) ensure quiet autofocusing with quick and convenient switching between autofocus and manual operation. Optical performance is enhanced by an ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass element that minimizes chromatic aberration, and Nano Crystal Coat which drastically reduces flare, enabling finely defined, clear images.

    One of the best macro lens for Nikon

    This is a great lens, probably the best I have ever used. Sharp as a razor blade, all metal construction, Vibration Reduction (VR)... The images are just amazing. VR enables handheld macro shots with a high hit rate. Is a pleasure to shoot with and every pictures look wonderful. It doubles as a very nice portrait tele. It makes you think that you're a great photographer! Highly Recommended!!!

    Great stabilised 105mm lens with macro capability and wide aperture

    I don't usually giv 5 stars to a photography product, because most of them are designed with tradeoffs (even the so called pro products) and the few that could be labeled "perfect" are only available at ridiculously high prices. The nikkor AF-S 105mm f2.8 micro is in my opinion a welcome exception. Quite simply and plainly, Nikon offers at a very competitive price probably the best macro lens in the world. Focal length was well thought and indeed 105mm is the best focal length for a macro lens. I ve tried 50mm, 60mm, 200mm near macro... 105mm offers the best distance from your (usually tiny) subject..... Glass quality is superb and the lens produces sharp images with accurately pleasing colors..... The inclusion of VR technology allows this lens to shoot in low ...

    A fabulous lens - equally at home with portraits as close up, and amazing sharpness. I’m aware that there are others such as the sigma and tamron - but if you do plump for the Nikon, you’ll have a very fine lens. And I’m picky!
