This can extend its service life while still offering reliability of use. The device’s maximum operating temperature is a productive 60 degrees Celsius. The IntelliPower feature guides the spin speed, data transfer rate, and data caching of this WD internal SATA HDD. The IntelliSeek feature can reduce the power consumption rate of this 7,200 RPM WD5000AADS Caviar Green hard drive. It determines the best seek speed to reduce vibrations and power use, which allows the device to work as quietly and efficiently as possible. It can also boast a greater superficial density by using the advanced technology of perpendicular magnetic recording (PMR). The Western Digital 500GB drive can ensure protective operations throughout the device. It has a NoTouch ramp load that can ensure the recording head and disk media never touch. At first I received a small envelope with a note inside tied to the provided USPS/SpeedPAK tracking number. This caused eBay to register the item as delivered but the hard drives were not yet in my hands. The drives showed up a few days later via UPS, under a completely different tracking number that I only obtained after questioning the seller. Once received the item was as described and working.

    Wonderful item

    Worked great. I was surpriesed at the speed for this standard hard drive . It took 3 seconds to boot windows completely. Running a heavy load on desktop. Shows no hesitation or bottlenecks. Photoshop running great. Playing games just as good to load. Playing games, hesitations are nonexistent. Im very happy with the price to performance ratio. I recommend this product to anyone who wants reliability and great work horse for there computers.

    replacement drive

    Wife's computer had a 500GB WD Blue (2007) that was acting "wonkie". Went to WD site and downloaded there tools for cloning. Worked right off the bat. Very simple. Did not need a bigger drive. The cloning tool would have worked for that also. Did the clone and pulled the old hard drive. No complaints
