Submariner super film
I am a claustrophobic, but love war films with submarines. Strange. However this is another gem to add to my submariner collection. The story holds together well and the actors deliver a reasonable job. Gary Oldman plays it below par but Gerard Butler convinces as a Sub Commander dealt a strange hand by fate. The movie manages to hold a fair amount of tension due to other activities by other groups. Sort of goes Rocky 4 at the end but a fine performance by the Swedish actor playing a Russian Naval officer. Sadly he died before the film reached the cinema. This film is engaging surprisingly better than expected and worth watching time and again.
