      These Tapered Bass Strings Work Extra Well for My Vantage Old-School 6 Stringer Basses

      These are the best applicable Low B Strings for me regarding several of my Vantage Basses- all six string models. These instruments really need a 36.5"' winding length for a secured install without risk of any string damage or headstock or bridge getting stressed by an ill-fitting string. Three major points of strong importance. They are: 1) Tuning key must have thinnest portion of wrap to be non damaging to any tonal producing area of string. 2) Ball end of string has a highly desirable tapered-end so as to provide best possible fit in the saddle, producing less stess on string core and bridge base plate. 3) Gauge allows me to tune down one step and a half step for different voicings and versatility with other gauged strings.

      The Best Bass Strings

      Before I began using Elixir Nanoweb strings, other string ate my fingers up, lost its brightness and tone fast. These strings make it easy to play and the lasting great sounds it produces means less changes and savings. Stay away from cheap strings because you get what you pay for.

      Last forever and feel great, too!

      These strings sound like nickel roundwounds because that's what they are, but without the high metallic clang. They feel wonderful and slinky. They cost more than uncoated strings but they will easily last as long as 3 or 5 regular sets, so that is value. Plus they don't change tone through a gig or a recording session. Best review I can give is I use these on all of my basses!

      Flat

      I always use nothing but Elixir Nano webs. It sucks that they do not make a 6 string set. I am forced tk buy a 5 set and a single. This last set I got just did not have.the same sound as the Nanos I have had. I love the piano string sound I usually get. This last set is flat sounding. Just not the same. I would just order another set but the close to $50 for the six strings is a little much to throw away. I.guess J will look into other strings before I buy another.set of Nanos. And I do need another set
