Difficult to assess
Not possible to assess this product since you have no comparison, ie. performance if you had not added the fuel additive. Car Companies are very vague about the measurable benefits apart from it will probably not do any harm

Using as a preventative measure
I am using it as a preventative measure. My X3 is less than three years old and has average mileage, so it is unlikely to have many carbon deposits in the first place. However, it’s a good value option from BMW, which I used to avoid compatibility issues. Only time will tell if these additives help, hence the OK / three stars.
