    Ethernet 42 MByte/s (336 Mbit/s) for me

It worked well connecting two computers together directly (not via router) for laptop backup purposes, both Win 10, in which I got 42 MByte/s, less than the theoretical 125 MByte/s but worked well for my purposes and it was a good price so I'm not worried (and I'd have to check the speed of all cables & components really). Without it the laptop managed a mere 2 MB/s on its wireless to do anything. Via the router (not directly) I got a similar 40 MByte/s. Hope the info may be useful if anyone is wondering a similar question. NB: these figures should not be confused with speeds for internet connections which tend to be expressed in Mbit/s (8 bits = 1 byte) so 42 MByte/s = 336 Mbit/s.

  • Most critical review

    Sort of works sometimes

It needs two seperate drivers in order to work. One for the USB hub part and one one for the ethernet part. The USB part installed autmatically on Window 7 and Windows 10, but through up an error on Windows 8.1. On Windows 10 the ethernet driver installs automatically, but on Windows 7 and 8.1 you need to install it yourself from a very low capacity drive build into the hub. It's a self extracting archive, but there is not enough room to expand it on the built in drive. You have to copy it to your hard drive first and then run it from there. There are no instructions telling you this. When it works, it's fine. But it's hit and miss. And it definitely needs instructions.

  • USB 3.0 Ethernet Port & USB Hub.

My Laptop doesn't have an ethernet port and sometimes drops Wi-Fi connection, often at the least convenient time. This adapter help eliminate that problem. Plug the ethernet adapter into an available USB 3.0 port. Then plug one end of your ethernet cable (RJ45) into the ethernet port and the other end of the cable into a powerline adapter wall socket. Making sure your second powerline adapter plugged in and connected to your router via an ethernet cable, away you go. Simples! No more dead spots and you get an additional two USB 3.0 ports. Brill.

  • Handy addon

Handy if you want to extend your Amazon Firestick and give it some oomph. I used it to give the stick a rock solid wired Internet connection, a WiFi dongle to use a wireless air mouse with apps and games, a slot to power the stick and finally a plugged in a 1Tb USB stick to be able to record media, movies, films, music as well as show pics, local movies, documents And extend my storage to install much more apps, in fact 1000s of apps more than the original stick could ever handle, It has effectively turned a wee Firestick into an android multimedia comouter. Prompt delivery, well built for price. Does what is says on the tin then some....

  • Great easy connection to LAN & USB 3

Have a new Surface Pro for work and struggle with the WiFi. The connector I got for the USB-C port connected to two screens (HDMI) & power but would not connect to LAN or USB 3 ports. Bought this online and was plug and play, works perfectly. Have LAN, camera, wireless keyboard/mouse all connected and work great
