About this product

Product Information

David Hall
The 1914-D is quite rare in circulated grades and is one of the semi-keys dates in the Buffalo nickel series. There were appparently some examples saved in mint state condition as though scarce, choice and gem specimens can be obtained. In gem MS65 or better condition, the 1914-D is about equal in rarity to the 1913-D Type 2 and 1915-D. Strike is usually ok on this issue, as it is on the other early D-mints. Luster is the usual early Buffalo nickel satin look and can be either a little subdued (dull) or somewhat bright.

Coin was as described and shipping was fast - great shopping and buying experience! I did order 2 coins and was charged 2 shipping charges of $5 each and the items were sent in the same package and were very light, so not sure why the seller didn't proactively offer a refund, but.

It's good value for price, age and scarcity not compared to an MS-68PF

Indian heed nickles are great to collect if that's your thing. I like them and have spent $1,000's on them but if I had it to do over again I'd focus on the keys to the series say the top 5-8 of the bunch in the highest grades I could save for!!!!!

  • Nice addition to coins

One of the better Restored date Buffalo nickles. Most are sloppily done, but this one is so well done it does not reduce the value. I will keep this in the collection. It sits next to another 1914 coin that has not been (fixed) and it is hard to tell the difference.

  • Has character and have a story to tell.

I like to collect coins that have character and have a story to tell. Shiny mint coins are too costley. This coin has real value to me.

  • I am satisfied.

Poor coin, but adequate for my set. Too bad that Buffalo nickels do not wear better.

  • Very nice looking coin that completed my collection of Indian Head nickles.
