About this product

Product Information

A new generation of mystical melee takes flight in Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit. Following successive, successful rounds in the fan-favorite DBZ: Budokai fighting game series for the 128-bit generation, Burst Limit raises the graphical resolution and adds online rankings while remaining true to the high-flying, super-powered battles made famous in the Dragon Ball Z manga and anime. A total of 21 characters are playable, in five wide-open battle stages.

Single-player battles are strung together on a storyline set during the popular Z Chronicles, beginning with the Saiyan Saga and ending with the Cell Saga. Cut-scenes are rendered in-engine, with the same stages and character models used in battle, and optional mini-games allow players to unlock extras and explore the branching plot. Internet-connected players can post their progress to online leaderboards and check their stats against others. The bonus DVD includes episodes 1-7 of Dragon Ball Z season one.

  • Burst Limit is great, but it's no Budokai!

For those looking for a Budokai style game, this isn't it. It's more energy-based then melee-based & the controls are odd (ex: punch and kick are the same button). However, the biggest issue for me was the lack of a tournament mode. I LOVE the tournament in every single other DBZ game, so I'm not sure why it wasn't included here. Other than that: the special moves are easy to do; energy replenishes fast, so you can use the energy moves any time you would like (not sure that's a good thing, but nonetheless); lots of characters to play as and against; story mode was nice; lots of options as to special moves or adds (like the ability to have a friend jump in to encourage you or block a hit, etc. Didn't like this, personally, because it slows down play, but it's an interesting addition); the 1 ...

  • buy it now or wait until the price drop

Dragon Ball Z burst limit is a great game. All of the characters from the Saiyan saga, Android saga, and Cell saga are here. There are a few characters that didn,t make the list in those sagas but the best characters are in. The game has great fighting style. the same fighting style from the dragonball Z games on the PSP, but with burst limit the developers change a few things. They added a new rage mode and a new counter attack move. Overall, the game is short. There are only twenty plus characters in the roster and you can complete the game in three hours or less. The game is good for dragonball Z fans out there. You should wait until the price drop because paying sixty dollars is a bit too much. I give dragonball Z burst limit a 3 out of 5 stars.

  • Fighting game that's short and sweet

Overall, I thought this game was very enjoyable. The combat is extremely fluid and fast, and creates an incredible likeness to the original series. One of my favorite aspects is that you feel like the attacks you are doing are actually inflicting a lot of damage on your enemy, which makes the game more intense and enjoyable. The graphics are fantastic, better perhaps than the original show. There were several things that disappointed me about this game, primarily the length. I beat it in a few hours. If you are familiar with the series, this game stops at the Cell saga, which doesn't really do the whole series justice. With this in mind, your characters are only able to level up as far as this saga allows (Gohan is the only character capable of Super Saiyan 2), so the powering up is ...

  • Great Game, could've been alot better

I was very impressed when i played my first "mission" so to say. The graphics are excellent, and no battle is ever the same. Burst Limit Raging Blast. I enjoy the excitement when two players do a 'kamehameha' at the same time, and they have to press buttons rapidly to win the "power battle". Yet, my one concern was the short campaign, as it only went to the cell saga, which was a disappointment. I like the fact that you transform into super saiyans instead of picking them in the menus and it gves you something more to work for in versus. The fun never stops, yet it could be alot more fun. Overall 8.5/10

  • Great Game

Dragonball Z: Burst Limit hits new heights with this next title in the series. It is the first next-gen Dragonball and the visuals surpass its predecessors. Burst Limit ties in perfectly with the TV show and provides some fun content for what it's worth. The battle system is a bit remeniscent of titles from the past but it tweaks and adds new elements that are sure to make it stand out from the crowd. Overall this is a must-play title for any Dragonball Z fans.
