Synopsis
A true classic with a timeless message All the other bulls run, jump, and butt their heads together in fights. Ferdinand, on the other hand, would rather sit and smell the flowers. So what will happen when Ferdinand is picked for the bullfights in Madrid? The Story of Ferdinand has inspired, enchanted, and provoked readers ever since it was first published in 1936 for its message of nonviolence and pacifism. In WWII times, Adolf Hitler ordered the book burned in Nazi Germany, while Joseph Stalin, the leader of the Soviet Union, granted it privileged status as the only non-communist children's book allowed in Poland. The preeminent leader of Indian nationalism and civil rights, Mahatma Gandhi--whose nonviolent and pacifistic practices went on to inspire Civil Rights leader Martin Luther King, Jr.--even called it his favorite book. The story was adapted by Walt Disney into a short animated film entitled Ferdinand the Bull in 1938. Ferdinand the Bull won the 1938 Academy Award for Best Short Subject (Cartoons)., A true classic with a timeless message! All the other bulls run, jump, and butt their heads together in fights. Excellent deal! I got these books at a good price, and they are all in very good condition - as stated in the auction. This seller is true to their word, cares about their customers, packs the books carefully so they don't get damaged while in transit, and ships them immediately. I'm so grateful to have found a trustworthy seller on eBay. This breed is rare - save this as one of your favorite sellers and see for yourselves the wonderful customer service they offer across the board. Thank you!!!!

  • Stellar Special Book

One of THE best stories in the world. It tells how one can be oneself and still be okay. Just so you know how great it is, my son, who was raised with this book because my mother had it at their house for the grandkids, just bought four copies: for his brother (it's both of their favorite kids' book), his girlfriend and another friend. It's an awesome book for new readers, too. Kids from all backgrounds will hear its message loud and clear and fun.
