Although this item is well up to BMW's usual high standards of design and manufacture, it is a curious shape and also quite small. (It will only hold a mobile, or a glasses case, or a couple of snickers perhaps.) If it was designed expressly for the E85 Z4 - which I doubt- it can only really be attached to the carpeting within the passenger-side footwell, where a driver with long arms can just about access it. It comes with a set of four special fixing clips. There are no instructions, but I assumed that one had to carefully make a pilot hole in the carpet, and then screw in the plastic screw clip so it retained the frame correctly. Quite a faff to line them all up, really, but it does seem to hold in place and comes in handy. Like many roadsters (including the new Abarth 124 ...
