  • Best pictorial book for it's time 1919-1943

This is must have book for anyone interested in Guam's history, especially from early 1900 and up into World War II. It fulls of early history as well multiple pictures on almost every page. I was able to find many distant relatives through out the book. The book is a great reference with many facts regarding history and actual events. However, some events did not match the facts of other eye witnesses. Keep in mind, many of the events were based on other eye witnesses too, but as you know you don't always get the same story if you interview several witnesses from the same event. Still, most of it seems factual or at least close enough for the general public. I highly recommend this book. It is one of the best books of Guam in the early years.

  • Good read!

I am a fan of Don Farrell after having read Tinian and the Bomb. This was the second volume of a 3 volume set on the history of Guam. This volume covered the Japanese occupation during WW2. The 3rd volume covers the liberation by US Naval forces. Good read!
