  • Excellent fast Gigabit switch at an excellent price!

Excellent piece of kit...does what it says very efficiently at a very good price. This was an upgrade from the 4 port version and works faultlessly. Cool running, looks good especially compared to most of the opposition and a very compact size. I would recommend it to anyone.

  • The first good Gigabit switch and it still does the job

Its a gigabit switch that works. Its reliable and just keeps doing what its meant to do.

  • Great product, great quality.

Netgear quality makes this gigabit switch the only serious choice for setting up a SOHO or linking the various elements of your home network. Just hook it up and watch your data transfer speeds leap. Of course, to get the benefit you need to have gigabit capability on the bits of kit you've plugged in. Gigabit-capable connections glow green while fast ethernet ones show up orange. Not only is this a robust, foolproof switch but it's also rather stylish and occupies a very small fotprint, particularly if the two stands supplied with it are used.

  • Simple to set up and to use. Needs ventilated space.

This is a dead simple piece of kit: open the box, plug in the mains adaptor and your Ethernet cables and that's it. Auto-sensing of speed works nicely, with different colours indicating different speeds on the front panel display. However, it does get quite warm and as the case is plastic, it doesn't make a great heat-sink, so I recommend placing it somewhere with a good airflow, because nothing kills electronics faster than excessive heat build up. Other than that, it's a low-cost, basic switch that works well.

  • netgear GS608 8 port ethernet switch

I was having problems with reliability of my internet connection, after swapping the incoming master socket and filters on the advice of the internet provider, which made no difference, I checked the modem router which seemed ok. This just left the ethernet switch between the pc's and the modem. I was using a D-Link 5 port switch and was recommended to upgrade to a netgear one. I bought this item and installed it which was very easy, just plug and go. This seems to have cured the poor connection so I would hartily recommend this 8 port switch.
