    Wow. (I was going to leave it at that, but I have to write 5 characters).

    Martin McDonagh hits so many nails on the head with his writing in The Beauty Queen of Leenane, I was stunned to read he does not consider himself at home writing for the stage. This play is written with such immediacy, such poetry, and is so well-observed, I feel richer for having read it. Having seen 'In Bruges', I get the distinct impression theatre's loss is cinema's gain.

    Black comedy at it's most nihilistic

    I really enjoyed this, BUT disclaimer this book has a real dark nihilistic tone that is very subjective, the book itself doesn't exactly have a happy ending, so if you like other black comedies I totally recommend it
